Are webinars dead end marketing tools or NOT?

According to a Go to webinar research, 73% of B2B marketers say Webinars are an effective marketing tool to reach out to a large audience and business leaders in an effective way.

Being a marketer myself I’ve been trying to explore various tools of communication that actually work! Recently I got to work on webinars and this got me thinking if the tool is going to be as effective as expected to. Will have to wait and see!

Meanwhile, while researching for stats got some facts from #Gotowebinar cheatsheet. Pick it up if you feel the stats are helpful.

Come to think of it, its interesting how webinars can actually cover a wide range of topics and reach out to all those interested from anywhere across the globe.

Let’s break this down. Businesses spend millions of dollars on conferences as lead gen activity and that is a one time thing. Nothing can beat face to face communication and direct interactions, of course. However, at times when the budgets are stringent and there’s a need to reach out to larger audience who are genuinely interested, webinars come handy.

My top 5 reasons why webinars could be effective B2B marketing tools

1. Webinars are great sales pitch. Whether you do direct sales pitch, knowledge sharing or product tutorials, it’s a great way to present your brand in an elaborate and interesting way.

2. Great marketing content on the web for re-visits. Remember to record your webinar and have it uploaded. It could be your marketing collateral archived for knowledge sharing.

3. Time Saving. This is no brainer of course. Webinars are done to save time and reach out to people who are even on the go. Just some good internet connectivity will do.

4. Cost effective. What more does a marketer want than to reach out to maximum audience at an effective budget. Webinars work magic in terms of cost-benefits.

5. Thought leadership. Webinars are a great way to position yourself as a thought leader. If your content is good and you provide valuable information for the attendees, they would want to listen to you more often. This is good for your brand!

I could go on with more number of reasons. Probably should write a part 2 on this!

For now let me leave you with the thought of why webinars should be taken be taken seriously by B2B marketers: to focus upon the 3 Cs:

Content. Communication. Create Value.
